Origins of Orouba & Basma Frozen Foods
Orouba For Food Industry Co. is a subsidary of AJWA Holding for
Food industries. It was founded in 1998 with an authorised capital
of LE 100 million, paid in capital of LE 60 million and overall
investment costs of LE 80 million. The firm's initial investment
was the construction of a large plant for processing frozen
vegetables and breaded products.
Overview
Orouba is one of the Middle East's biggest names in frozen
vegetables. The Basma brand has received an enthusiastic reception
within the local and international markets with energetic and
professional staff of 495, the company processes approximately
20,000 tons of frozen vegetables as well as 1,800 tons of value
added products.
Plant
In 1999, Orouba built a 20,000 sqm modern processing plant,
located 15 minutes from Cairo by car. Designed by professional
experts and powered by the latest hi-tech equipment from the most
famous multinational companies in this field. All packaging areas
are air-conditioned and two seperated cold stores of 3,000 cubic
metres are integrated into the plant.
